The Environmental and Architectural Analytics Research (EAAR) Lab, led by Dr. Hassan Azad at the University of Florida's School of Architecture, is a pioneering research group dedicated to architectural science, building technology, and architectural and environmental acoustics. The lab explores the intersection of technology, computation, and acoustics to enhance built environments at various scales, from individual buildings to urban landscapes.
Research Aras:
Architectural & Environmental Acoustics
Investigating sound performance in buildings, noise control strategies, and the effects of environmental noise on public health.
Technology Integration in Architectural Design
Applying computational tools, simulations, and remote sensing techniques to improve acoustical design and performance.
Smart & Connected Built Environments
Developing smart technologies for real-time noise monitoring and acoustic comfort in urban spaces.
Sustainability & Acoustics
Exploring sustainable sound insulation and absorption materials for energy-efficient buildings.
